In Australia the 14th July - le quatorze juillet - is actually known as the French National Day- La Fête Nationale.
For the last two years, however, CENTRO in Wollongong have included the day in their regular calendar and so we have met up there, without the fuss of organising it ourselves.
Just returned from a wonderful Bastille day, hosted by Centro. A Degustation Menu to die for and beautiful French wines was the order of the day and then a surprise Entertainment package topped it all off when a beret wearing man who introduced himself as a French name, came on stage, with his French wife being called on to the stage to also sing a song. The highlight came however at the end of the performance when he confessed he wasn't French at all but ...was Scott of the KInsmen. What a wonderful afternoon.
So NEXT YEAR again at Centro get in early to celebrate a fabulous day.

Christmas is also celebrated, somewhat a mix of an end of year dinner and Christmas.
It is usually held at the Novotel and dates and details will be posted when bookings are organised.
